Global Center for Experimental Structures

SDW LLC is a Limited Liability Company based in Princeton,  New Jersey and New York City, New York  USA and currently has operations in Beirut, Lebanon, Dubai, UAE and Toronto, Canada.

Omar Solh (IA-AIA, UIA, LOEA, B Arch M Arch)  Founded Solh Design Workshop in 2003 and is active at the capacity of Principal and Chief Architect . Omar received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Architecture from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and has been professionally employed by and Khatib and Alami in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1995-1996) and SNFP Norman Foster KFF JV (1996-1999) and later with Hillier (2000-2001) in Princeton, New Jersey, USA and Gensler (2001-2002) of New York, USA.

From International Business Development to Site Supervision, Omar has been able to deliver creative and unique services to his clients spanning Middle East, Europe and North America.  Al-Fisalliah in particular with SNFP involved on site problem solving and architectural management for an overall construction value of $320 million whereas Novartis with Hillier (presently known as RMJM) involved services in digital curtain walling detailing with an overall construction of $500 million.

In many ways, SDW is able to deliver services to clients gained from both constrcution, project management, project development and architectural design.  Our method statement involves a complete digital simulation of all global projects and our ability to mobilize throughout Middle East and North America is consistent with our clients needs.

Presently, SDW is focused on distressed urban properties along the North East Corridor in United States.  At the same token, SDW is incorporating GCES (Global Center for Experimental Structures) focusing on Renewable Wind + Solar and their adaptive use on existing structures both natural and built.  GCES will involve a series of patents and shall be addressed as a Limited Liability Company with equity partners and incubators locally (US and Canada) as well as internationally.

All in all, since 1991, Omar Solh has been active on a number of completed projects with former employers yielding $1.2 billion in construction and implemented respectively in Saudi Arabia and United States.  Since 2003, SDW has been active through architectural design and project development opportunities.  Many of SDW's design design concepts are located in New York, New Jersey, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, Jeddah and Beirut.  All in all, the overall construction value is estimated at $250 million.

GCES - Global Center for Experimental Structures - is presently being incubated and incorporated as a separate design and business model with emphasis on renewable technology based on Wind Cone, Adaptive Kinetic Habitats and Reverse Osmosis and Condensation Desalination Floating Structures.  All three models interconnect in may ways and through an effective methodology with emphasis on renewable and clean energy both through Wind, Water + Solar.
